P3D stereo portraits
It has occurred to me that since the camera cannot be
turned vertical in stereo (which a recent thread pointed out!),
for portraits I wouldn't really have any advantage in getting
a bigger image if I went to Realist or European format, plus
I would have a disadvantage in perspective with 35mm or 38mm
lenses (noses too big) as compared to 50mm with my beamsplitter.
(I do shoot portraits of kids with my Nimslo, 30mm lenses, but
they don't have very big noses!) I'd have to go all the way to
vertically twinned SLR's to get a bigger image. Since I have an Olympus
OM-10 and there is also an OM-10 school camera at my disposal, I _could_
do that (I also have two 50mm lenses), but so far the weight and size
have discouraged me, not to mention having to buy and load two rolls
of film each time (I'm sure there are lots of twinned camera users out
there who would tell me it's worthwhile!).
