Did I have a good time??? (Does Monday follow Sunday?) My wife Krys
says that if the convention city officials knew how much fun we were all
having they would charge us an entertainment tax

My thanks from the NSA Board of Directors to Harry Richards and his crew
for a first class convention. In the years to come people will be saying
(I think) "This convention is great, but it does not compare to Green
Bay"

My enjoyment of the Convention comes from meeting old friends and making
new ones. It takes time to move from one spot to another in the hotel as
there is always someone to stop and talk to and everyone you meet wants
to talk "stereo".

I have a few personal convention highlights that I want to share.
Normally the SSA Friday Night Supper, which had a record attendance this
year, is the highlight of the convention for me. This year there were
two others which outrank the Supper for me.
1. Jim and Jane Matthews, old Army friends who we had not seen since
1965, drove 4 hours to spend Friday afternoon with Krys and I. We talked
and talked and talked. 34 years is a long time to catch up on. Jane
remembered our wire haired dachshund Truxie who died in Pirmasens Germany
, and on and on. A most memorable and enjoyable afternoon and it was not
even stereo related, except for the location.
2. Being able to see the Convention through the eyes of Walter and Hanni
Dubronner, good friends from Germany attending their first NSA
Convention. They really did enjoy themselves and kept remarking about
how friendly everyone is at these events. Walter was impressed by the
fact that our Conventions encompass all forms to stereo, from stereo
slides, to lenticulars, Viewmasters, vectographs, over and under and
stereo cards. He also enjoyed the NSA Auction as he had never seen
anything like that. My thanks to everyone who went out of their way to
make the Duboronners welcome.

Now a brief commercial - A couple of years ago I suggested that some of
the folks who makes slides as their prime means of stereographic
expression might want to put some of their works in the NSA Auction.
Some of the P3d group said they would, but this didn't happen. So, to
test the water, so to speak, I put one stereo slide in the 1999 NSA
Auction. It sold for $40. I encourage everyone to put some of their
works, either prints or slides in the Auction, since it is a good
fundraiser for NSA.
