I feel a bit like Michael Georgoff, who said, "I now have, next to the
trusty Realist, a coffee that has a stereo slide taped to it and the word
MESA written on that. The coffee can has $17.42 in it so far. "

I've only been to one convention, the one in San Antonio. It was like a
dream come true, for a collector. Unfortunately, my wife keeps raiding MY
coffee mug for money to pay the bills. Right now, I don't even have $17.42
in it. I think it has two dolllar bills and a Canadian nickel in it. So I
have not yet been able to repeat my quest. (Airfare from the depths of
South Florida are always..... icky.)
I have to admit that I have mixed feelings when I read the reports from
those who attend the convention. It's thrilling to hear about how nice Dr.
T is, when met on the breakfast line, or who has ponytails and looks like
whoever else. It's also really annoying.... since I didn't get to go. I
think I could've scrounged up the moolah for the trip itself, but what good
is it if I don't have enough left over to but that Tru-Vue of Sally Rand's
Bubble Dance???
Terrible T (my better half) says that she promises I can go to Mesa.
Sure. I've heard that one, before. On the other hand, one kid will be out
of daycare, and the other won't be in it, yet. Who knows.? Stranger things
have happened.
