Big Bruce, you hit that one right on the head! Now you know
why I don't bring my wife in these conventions! :-) :-) :-)
Last night I mounted my 4 rolls from the convention. I got
some great pictures!!! I am planning a short program in
our club, covering the NSA and PSA conventions in 3d.
I was also thinking of bringing the slides in the next convention
for "famous personalities" (like you Bruce!) to sign them!
Dale Walsh was with us Saturday night in the Awards dinner.
Also, Lee and Nancy Castro. Lee is one of the funniest
people around! I remember back in the Rochester convention
in the stereo theater I was sitting next to Ron Labbe and Lee.
It was unforgettable!
Bill Davis (with whom we have so many things in common... I
remember when he introduced himself in the Internet meeting
I was thinking "me too"... same photographic interests, only
a different camera!) wrote:

Yeap! They looked in their mid 20s! It is great to see such
young stereo enthusiasts. They said they are in photo-3d too.
Talking about young people... Lawrence Kaufman and his wife...
Not exactly in their 20s... but very young for being the President
of a historic stereo club...
Some other names that I did not see mentioned: Linda Nygren,
Ivy Feibelman, Gary Dineen (Gary let me borrow his Stereo 50
and Rotoviewer for the viewer workshop and he also sat around
my table to keep me company!) Also, two of our club members,
Ron Fross and Jim Motley were there. And, of course, Bill
Costa... we were enjoying each other's S1 pictures!
I mentioned my two roommates: Paul Talbot and Michael Chikiris.
You all know Paul... Michael is a photographer and stereo view
dealer from Pittsburgh... We enjoyed his stories on collecting...
They all go like this: I found a print in a flea market for $100.
I brought it to the NSA convention trying to sell it for $400.
People laughed at me and said I would never be able to sell it at
this price. Then I gave it to a New York auction house. It sold
for $3000!
A last story: I met this gentleman Joe Hohmann who has bought my
VM model D book and had also sent his viewer for cleaning. We
were sitting next to each other in the Stereo Theater. When they
showed the winners of the View-Master International Exhibition,
they mentioned that the gold metal winner was shooting his first
roll through his View-Master personal. That was Joe!!!! I was
amazed and honored to know him! (read the story in the July
issue of 3D News)
