I am having a very hard time understanding what to make of this site.
There's nothing so confusing as coming in at the wrong time.
At any rate i recommend Ceram's "Pre history of the Cinema"
for some references to 3-D and also  have a look in
the Journal of the society of motion picture engineers.
JSMPTE is full of stuff on 3-D from the 1960's.
