I have a Xerox copy of the instruction sheet for the Stitz device (I think
Reel 3D still has these copies in their catalog). They specify the minimum
focal length to be 55mm; a 40mm lens will almost certainly see the edges of
the device. This is an inevitable limitation of mirror boxes.

The suggestion to use a longer focal length is a better idea for "close" shots.
