What's usually called "beamsplitter" really isn't one, it's the thing with pairs of
mirrors. It needs to be aligned "true" with the camera. Important, but not
hard to do in practice. Rotating the splitter along with the attached camera
is the same as rotating any stereo camera which is to say it can be done but
arguments from purists may result from doing it. Be forewarned.
This should be on the photo-3d list, not this one. I've copied it there, so
pick up the thread there if it needs to be picked up. ;-)

P.S. - They're even called "beamsplitters" in books from the 50's. It's a
long standing misnomer.
