This sounds like an interesting article. I look forward to reading it. 

FYI - You may have covered this already, but just in case - to truly
cover the world of slide viewer, you might want to include some of the
medium format viewers that have been made by the likes of Joel Alpers,
etc. Robert Thorpe has AN EXCELLENT WEB PAGE full of info and pics at:

I got to look at a Medium Format Expo in one a few months ago and was
stunned by waht I saw... amazing stuff! =)
