Actually the complete name of that bird is Satcom 3. C3D is
located on transponder five, but will be found on channel nine
if the generic "galaxy" format is used on the sat. receiver. So
far the C3D Network is running unscrambled. If you have
access to a C-band dish, it's really worth checking out.

Ahh yes, "Robot Monster": rated one of the worst films in movie
history! The 3-D on "RM" ranges from OK to poor ..and even to
2D on a few occasions. Lawrence Kaufman indicated to me that
there are reports even the original prints had this problem due to
the cheap duel cameras rig. Most of the 3-D segments have horrible
alignment problems, and put your eyes through a work out. But
still.. it's miles better than the old VHS anaglyph tape. Their other
film titles, "the Creeps" and "Ape", are much better. C-3D is also
running two 1/2 hour shows, "The Living Room" and The Edge"
which are well done and effectively use the 3-D medium. The
only time I think C-3D really struck out was their 2D to 3D
conversion of "the Puppetmaster". Motion artifacts and a cheap
3-D simulation is the result. There appear to a few places in this
film where it looks like C3D may have used vectoring to place
different parts of the image at different levels in the stereo plane.
Nice, but still no a substitute for the real thing.
Overall I must applaud the C-3D network for doing what no
other company has yet done: Start a field-sequential channel
with with new and classic titles. If they are able to get some
major studio titles, that would only be icing on the cake.

Wow! I missed that clip! Do you remember roughly where you
saw that in the 6 to 8 hr loop block?
