I see the window as frame of reference.  For the lenticular or an 
anglyph, this is the border of the picture.  Think of the anaglyph 
for a second.  Doesn't the border define the window?  Also, when you 
overlap the edges of a slide mask on the screen during projection 
what do you get?  A black frame.  It is not stereoscopic.  Still acts 
like a window.  If you increase the image size so that you don't
see the slide mask any more then the borders of the screen will
act as the window.  The window is a frame of reference and it
defines the stereo image in within.
