Yes, that's correct Greg.  Binocular masks offer more posibilities
that simple monocular borders.  If I may correct slightly your quoted
statement:  The masks must not simply be cut at different angles but
have varying widths.  Cut at different angles will make them tilted
but still perpendicular to the viewing plane.  Varying widths will
make them inclined in the z-direction.  I know you know that but
just wanted to clarify for those not familiar with this concept.
