I am not sure whose ox is being gored to inspire this testy
remonstrance, but as an attendee at several ISU conventions,
particularly Paris in '91 and Eastbourne in '93, I recall lengthy and
varied stereo theatres with elaborate projection equipment and
presentations, in various formats, including medium. However, there was
a dearth of stereocard presentations, which are a regular feature at NSA
conventions. It just confuses the issue to talk about Stereo Theatre
presentations featuring copies of cards. Slides are projected, cards
are viewed. When one high ISU official was queried a few years ago
about this imbalance, his reply was "We don't have cards because nobody
is interested in cards."

Agreed, projection is more effective for _simultaneous_ presentation,
but on the other hand a static display of reflective images (cards) can
be viewed by as many people, individually, at their leisure, at their
own pace, without conflict with other events, which is often a concern
with scheduled projected shows.
In any event, Bill Walton is not the only stereocard enthusiast to
applaud ISU's belated but welcome "recognition" of the Original Format!
