P3D Nimslo and XA underexposure

The two Marks (Shields and Dottle) wrote that they have problems
with their Nimslo and XA cameras underexposing. Mark & Mark
mention they've noticed the cameras initially worked fine and
was only after a matter of time that the problems surfaced.

Mark Shields wrote,

This makes sense BUT there is hope! It's true that the cell gets
"tired", or rather gets dark adapted. What happens is that if the
camera is left in the dark for long periods of time, the photocell
resistance will read lower for a particular light level. If that
happens, the camera is fooled into thinking there is more light
than there really is and the result is underexposed images.

The rememdy for this (assuming that is the problem in your
particular case, has the camera been left for long periods of
time in the dark?) is to leave the camera light adapt for at
least 16 hours in bright light. Be careful though (with too
bright or too long) or you might have opposite problem of
overexposure!

It could very well be, if they were stored in the same
conditions!

Gabriel, exposing the truth! ;-)
