P3D Re: Bracketing slide film--also telephoto depth?

I try to bracket important slides because I tend to like them dark in my viewer
but my scanner (an inexpensive flatbed with transparency adapter) prefers them
light.

Another question:
I've noticed that my pictures are more effective if they combine good "2D" depth
clues with the stereo.
So I'm wondering how the apparent "squashing" of depth that a telephoto lens
produces (in 2D) would affect a stereo shot?

Thanks all for the info on mailers.
