Hi Ron ,
This is in response to how I got a hold of E6 in '69. I actually went
touring in '70. I worked for a graphic and photo arts business with access
to a lot of films. All my early e6's thru 1976 have shifted in color to one
extent or another. I disagree with George regarding whether future
generations will appreciate our photographic endeavors. Yes he is right
about "dah" how come there's two pictures. Even if they convert them
over...or break them apart and remount....the information will remain intact
with Kodachrome. I did my part. I find no fault with this film. I have
tried other films and ...I think this is mental....but seeing in stereo
which is so lifelike to begin with...the brain expects to see things in
colors, shades saturation's as it is use to seeing in everyday life.
Sure..Velvia is a stunning film. But everything is greatly exaggerated .
I think this is fine in 2d...it needs all the help it can get...but in
stereo it seems surreal. To each his own I say, but I hear so many
negatives about Kodachrome which I feel are unsubstantiated. Most problems
arise due to either faulty processing or careless handling. I have had
my share of E6 problems..especially when the chemistry is not kept up...talk
about purple or blue casts to everything.

I'm giving up my soapbox for now. Please don't think I'm against E6...I' m
just very protective of the film that made stereo photography available to
the masses.
Your friend in stereo,
Jim

First snow, then silence.
This thousand dollar screen dies
so beautifully.
