The Maryland lab is still doing at least some of the mounting, as I have
received at least 4 rolls back from that location in the past couple of
weeks. (Out of a large # of rolls that I sent in from a recent
vacation). They were postmarked in Maryland, and I have also received
invoices from Maryland, as have others on the list. I have also received
a number of rolls back from Mineapolis recently, although it is hard to
be sure where the mounting is being done since they are postmarked New
Jersey. The customer rep in NJ that I deal with can't explain why some
go to one lab and some to another, but in part it makes a difference
whehter they go in via a mailer or through a photo dealer. Supposedly
all the mailer traffic goes to Minneapolis, whereas the dealer traffic
may go wherever the regional lab doing the sorting decides they want to
send it.

It is possible that the Maryland location is being phased out as a
stereo mounting site, but when I talked to someone in Maryland lab
directly a couple of weeks ago, they were not aware that this was the
case. BTW, I am not seeing a clear difference in quality so far between
the labs in terms of overall error rate, although I will report back if
I can see much of a trend. -Linda (in St Paul,MN)
