There is still time for me to return the Hi8 and get the TRV103.
I had suspicions that I had mad a hasty decision.
No it was not the battery, but could have been some setting
in the camera that was not set properly. My initial lack of success
combined with the advice from 3D-Video that it might not work, and
Christoph's problem with digital, was enough to convince me. I'll
return the Hi8 and get the Digital 8 tonight, then report on my
experience.
Sidebar one:
I think Digital 8 is a good option for people who already have a
library of home video on 8 or Hi8 tape.
Sidebar two:
I also used incorrect terminology in my review of the
Nu-View adapter that appears in Inside 3-D and on 3D-Video's web site.
I used the term "sequential frame" where the correct term would be
"alternate field". Thanks to Andrew Woods for catching that one.
I do know the difference, I can only blame the drugs from the 60's
for my error.
