  If he want's wide then I guess the Holga
is the way to go. The next cheapest thing
in medium format is probably Mamiya TLRs
with 55 or 65mm lenses but that would probably
push you close to $1000 for the pair.

  I love medium format stereo but I still
don't understand why it's needed for this
application. Why not a pair of SLRs with
28mm lenses or whatever?
