Hi, Dr. P!

The Graven Images "Stereography" site was managed by Terrenz Sword, whom
I ran into at Siggraph a few days ago. He has had severe computer
problems and is also struggling with financial problems as well, all of
which resulted in his losing the site. Part of the problem was a nasty
disk crash and loss of his backup, as well, as I recall. He is trying
to recover the lost files, which is requiring expensive help. He is in
good spirits and tells me that he fully intends to restore the site with
a new service provider, but it sounds as though there are still pending
difficulties, some of them legal, and it may be awhile.

Terry managed to put that web site together on a shoestring, and I think
he would appreciate hearing that you miss it (he is too swamped at the
moment to screen the P3D list). It featured an extensive list of stereo
related organizations that took a lot of research to assemble, and the
interlaced stereo images of his dog, "Moon," were charming, as were the
excellent "guest artist" images that he featured. He was an ardent
advocate of displaying internet images by the interlaced field
sequential method (we had a lively disagreement going over this -- I
favored the page flip method, which alternates progressive scan images,
but now I think the technology is not mature enough to favor either
method overwhelmingly). Anyway. you can reach him at:

Cordially,
Oliver Dean
