P3D Slowing Down In My Old Age

I started my stereo hobby using a Realist and 100 ISO Sensia film. Then
I switched to Kodachrome 64 for a short while. Lately I have favored
Velvia ( ISO 50) with the Realist. Then I decided to go full frame with
an RBT. I tried a pair of polarizers on the RBT and decided I like the
look. Now I use Velvia 50 and polarizers. To rival the sharpness and
depth of the Realist, I must use at least f8 or preferably f11. Now,
even on a sunny day, many shots I'd like to take would require a tripod.
Using a tripod will limit the type of shots ( candids etc.) that I would
ordinarily take with the Realist. At this pace, I'll end up as a
tabletop artist using welders glass in front of the lenses for that
"saturated" look.:-)
Is there any hope for me? Does anyone make a decent ISO 400 slide film
that looks good using polarizers? Sensia 400? Ektachrome? Agfa?
Or should I remove the polarizers if I want to hand hold the camera? I
would like grain acceptable for viewer use and projection. Any Ideas?
Thanks. Mark Dottle
