Bill Moll gives me an excuse to bring up something I wanted to mention
earlier.

Some time ago, I purchased a lot of 15 views on ebay for $1.00 each.
I believe I got them so cheaply because they were mis-listed by an
unknowledgeable seller as "CinemaScope Views!!!"
They are all Underwood & Underwood photographs.

Twelve of them are Spanish subjects, some quite attractive and
well-photographed, some faded, all copyright 1902.

Three are Swiss subjects copyright 1897, 1901 and 1903.

One of the latter is of the observatory atop Mt. Blanc.

I am certainly getting my dollar's worth from each of them.

My question is: Is the copyright date any indication of the age of the
actual prints, or does it simply represent the first publication date of
each image?
