P3D Belplasca or RBT?

Hallo all discussing Belplasca
I am a user of the Belplasca for more than 13 years. I always worried about
taking an exposure meter with me. So I decided two years ago to buy a RBT x4 with
a lens separation of 75 mm, because I often do stereographs of landscapes so a
larger separation is a little bit better. This camera has a built-in exposure
meter but all is not automaticly. That is what I wanted.
But: The camera is very heavy, 1168 grams. It lasts very long to do all the
settings before taking. The sharpness is good but I have always problems with the
right setting of the exposure meter. In sunny areas such as South-France I very
often have got wrong measures.
The Belplasca has a lens separation of only 63,2 mm which is not so good
concerning the stereoscopic effect. By the other hand I enjoy using my Realist
because of its very good stereoscopical effect due the 70mm lens separation.
Resume: I like all of them. I use them for different purposes and I do not want
to miss one of them. The RBT S1 is really an extraordinary thing but at an
extraordinary price! And be sure you have to wait more than one year to get one!
If somebody has a question concerning the RBT in general I meet the maker of RBT
next Saturday with the ISU 1st Stereo Card Exhibition judging. Mr. Oehmichen, the
manufacturer and co-owner of RBT is one of our judges with the first ISU
Sterocard Exhibition.
