P3D RBT X4

Dr. T and I received our X4 models about one week apart. His serial # is
two digits newer than mine. Coincidentally we selected the same
features, 75mm spacing and no bubble level. While comparing notes, I
found that my meter works differently than Dr. T's. We both seem to have
had occasional " soft" pictures from these cameras and we have been
discussing this in the New Film Gear list. I just concluded several test
shots today to determine the cause of the softness, which we believe to
be camera shake.
We will have some conclusive answers tomorrow. The merits of the camera
so far? Light weight, easy to use.....stereo focusing is awesome. The
meter is very accurate. The lens linkage works surprisingly well.
Filters and special effects no problem......52mm threaded filters allows
for polarizers etc. No wasted film. The 75mm spacing allows 17-18 full
frame pairs from a single roll of 36. Standard Pentax lenses can be
added for, lets say 70-210 zoom capabilities without having to sync 2
seperate camera bodies. The problems? I'm getting less than 50%
successful shots right now......the camera is not perfect and I'm trying
to determine what is causing many shots to look "soft". I'll post my
test results tomorrow.
