NOTE: Tom Martin's message prompts me to write this letter.

Awhile back I bought a Red Button viewer from Elliott Swanson.
At first glance the viewer looked excellent but upon further
examination, I could see the tell-tale signs that this viewer
had extensive bodywork done on it!

Okay before anyone gets the wrong impression from my misleading
subject line and preceding paragraph, I'm not condeming Elliot,
but praising his excellent body work! :-)

At that time, he did warn me the viewer he was going to sell
me was conditional on he being able to bring it up to par. He
told me the viewer was presently in shattered pieces (literally)
and would need alot of work and he would try his best. If it
didn't meet his standards he wouldn't sell it to me.

A few weeks later he emailed, saying the viewer was ready. He
warned me at the time, to not try concealing the fact that the
viewer was in a total wreck at one time, in case I decided to
sell it in the future. When I got it, I couldn't believe how
well it was restored. Only if you examine it very carefully can
you see any signs of bodywork. As Tom and George have mentioned,
he has my highest recommendation too!

BTW, since we're on the subject, Elliott posted an excellent,
"how to" on doing this kind of work yourself (seems easy but
I wouldn't personally attempt it) in an old digest. I forget
which one it was but if you do a search you'll find it.
