The RBT unit is very nice, full frame and probably cheaper than a Donaldson,
(if you can find one). However, the Donaldson is a macro camera which has
variable interocular adjustments possible. I don't think that the RBT Macro
unit has that feature.

Interesting comparision....but then again...the two MACRO systems here are
really apples and oranges.

RBT MACRO is a hand held portable system for spontaneous full frame MACRO
stereo, it can be removed from the RBT camera body quickly to use other
fixed or zoom lens systems for NON MACRO use at 65mm or 75mm.
Donaldson MACRO is a stationary, or controlled environment system, with
fine optics but I dont knwo if it has interchangeable lens possibilities.

RBT MACRO has TWO selctable lens bases 6mm and 11 mm, and is infinitley
focusable for composing from as small as 24 x 36mm...to as large as 85 x
130mm
Donaldson MACRO is continuously variable in stereobase...but I do not
know the field parameters.

Ron Labbe might be a good person to ask about both systems, he has
experience with the Donaldson, and recently saw the results of some images
I did with the RBT MACRO.
