You forgot an important variable:  The subject being
photographed.  All three pictures you described are
hypostereos (close-ups shot with smaller than 2.5 
inches interocular).  Have your friends ever seen
normal stereos?  Hyperestereos?  Have they ever seen
a good Realist stereo pair in a red button viewer?
There is a whole world out there waiting to be
explored.

Whatever!  There are many tricks you can do with a
Realist... It's not that Realist users are bored to
death.
