Since Dave has outed me on the list I guess that I should stop lurking and
mention Bair mounts and the potential that they have for stereo mounting.
The Stock Solution is a stock agency operating out of Salt Lake City and
they produce and sell cardboard mounts that are used by a number of stock
shooters. I use them mainly for my 2D reverse processed black and white
work. Their mounts are available in 35mm, medium formats and 4x5. The
thing that would be nice about them as far as stereo goes is the means by
which they seal the mounts shut. They use a latex cohesive that sticks to
itself, but not to your film chip. It is pressure sensitive so it requires
no potentially damaging heat being applied. You can also remove your film
chips easily without having any adhesive residue clinging to and potentialy
ruining your image (try that with a heat seal). They dont currently
produce any stereo mounts and I have no idea if they would be open to the
suggestion, but I think that the use of theirs or a similar adhesive for
sealing the mounts aplied to Spicer mounts would be a very nice system.
If you want to see their mounts their main web site is at
http://www.tssphoto.com/ . The URL for their mount sales is
http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/psp.html. They send out samples of their
mounting products if you ask for them.
