I found this intriguing, as I'd never really given it a lot of thought...
turns out he's right- for the most part. At least one rogue publisher in my
collection, "Real Adventures Publishers" ("Sheena the Jungle Queen" and "The
First Christmas") utilized blue acetate. I noticed Harvey called theirs
"Green-Blue", though the color looked green (though quite faded- I may have
thought that they'd been bluer 46 years ago).
Checking my 1950's magazines, I found predominantly blue acetate.
I've found that a faily light cyan works best- a dark blue absorbs
considerably more light with not a lot of gain in extinction. An overall
brighter image helps the viewing immensely.
