Hi, Mark!
That is a beautiful place to shoot photos, unfortunately, you can't get
there anymore. The Liberty Memorial is closed to the public because it
is falling apart. There is a movement to restore it, but I don't think
it's started. Union station itself is covered in scaffolding now, in
the midst of its own restoration.
My favorite place to shoot Kansas City Skyline photos is north, across
the Missouri river, from the levy behind the downtown airport. It's
level there, and would be a great place for hypers. You can get the
skyline lights reflecting in the river.
The season here for night skyline shots is approaching. When it gets
dark early enough that all the downtown lights are still on, and the air
is crisp and cold with no haze.
I plan to experiment with city scene hypers this November myself. I'll
keep everyone posted as to how they come out.
