I guess it depends on the viewer... There are certain VM viewers
with very high magnification (John Dukes' for example). 
Brightness
also depends on a number factors.

Speaking about BS illuminated viewers, I have right on my hands
the most unsual bs viewer you have ever seen.  It is all metal,
no ID just a sticker "made in Japan", it has internal
illumination
and it works with prisms instead of mirrors.  It is very heavy!
It belong to a doctor how uses them (he has two) to view eye
research slides recorded with beamsplitters.  It is the second
time I see this viewer.  This time the batteries were not making
good contact and the doctor could not make it work and so he
sent it to me.  A very unusual viewer...

Heck, if it has stereo pairs, I'LL BUY IT!!!  Seriously, as a
fundraiser we can sell these to stereo enthusiasts if they
are a little bit related to stereo!
