P3D Re:

Although I did hear about the October meeting of the Chicago Stereo
club, I never heard anything from anyone about mounting regular
slides as 7P or something so I could project them, Realist style.
Still am listening for any comments.

Last week, there was some discussion about medium format and stereo.
I got to thinking that maybe it was time I got out my Yashica
Mat-124G and my Jasper slide bar and did some stereo work with that
camera. But whether I do prints or slides, I will need something to
look at them. Does anyone have a preference??? Honestly, I have not
looked for anything so can say I have no idea what is available.
But, I will do some looking as soon as I get this cropo of exams over
with.

Yesterday, I was catching up on the digest from over the weekend.
Yes---WEEKEND. Since I am no longer chairman, I do other things on
weekends and do no come into work. Anyhow, there was the discussion
about drugstore processing. Channel 7 (ABC) in Chicago did a similar
study that someone talked about where they did a bunch of rolls of
film, had various processing done and then had professionals look at
the results. Some of the big name camera stores in Chicago got the
film back for further processing on the prints as color rendition was
extremely poor. They found the best to be Wal Mart 2 day prints.
Most of the time I use Walgreen's 1 hour processing as they do a good
job. I just picked up my Ektachrome slides (remember---my first
stereo roll in over a year) and found they had Kodak processing.
What I also noticed was that the 36 slide roll was cheaper than the
same roll at the camera store I usually go to. Well, as channel 7
said, processing is a mega-buck business now. And I am assuming that
bigger stores will do it cheaper due to the volume.
