P3D slide scanner adaptor

People have been discussing making adaptors for slide scanners. Having
just bought a used Nikon Coolscan, I've been intending to make an adaptor
for it. This evening, finding myself with a bit of time, and some styrene,
I did just that. I made a rectangular piece that the slide sits on, with a
hole that lines up with the film; the slide is held in place with three
styrene strips that are the thickness of the slide, and surround it on
three sides. They extend right to the edges of the holder. The whole thing
is 3 mm thick, which, I think is a bit too thick. I have to crank the
focus on the scanner all the way to one limit to get a reasonably sharp
scan. The film strip holder that comes with the scanner is the same
thickness, but the fim is centered in it. I could put it in upside down, I
guess, but that's clumsy. So I'm going to try another one with thinner
styrene as a base, and see what happens. Other than that, it works pretty
well. I also managed not to get any airplane glue inside the scanner. I
have to admit I was a bit afraid to stick a homemade object in there.
