You'll have to be a bit more explicit about what kind of image format
we're talking about here.
A "standard" .jps image consists of a stereo pair with the left image
first (cross-eyed view). I put "standard" in quotes because other
variants are possible if the JPS stereo descriptor is used. However,
without a JPS descriptor, the software assumes a cross-eyed stereo pair.
So one way to extract would be to use an image processing program like
Photoshop. Rename the .jps extension to .jpg and load normally. Use
the rectangle tool to select the left image; copy to the clipboard and
paste into a new image. Repeat for the right image. Remember that
they're a cross-eyed pair, so name them appropriately.
If we're talking interlaced, de-interlacing can also be done, but I'll
have to defer to someone else to describe the process in Photoshop,
never having done it myself. Conceptually it is simple, merely grabbing
every even line for one image and every odd line for the other.
