    I certainly agree.  Since I hand view much more often than I 
    project, I mount them this way -- the white boarder in a hand
    view is distracting.  The downside, other than the possibility 
    of overheating (mentioned by others) is that when given to a 
    projectionist with no instructions, my slides tend to get 
    shown backwards.  But in most cases, so what?  :-)

    I've never seen this spelled out in any literature, but I've
    always assumed that the edge with the groove (a.k.a. horizontal
    line) is the top.  What other purpose would there be for that
    groove other than to give your finger nail a purchase on the slide
    for pulling it out of the viewer?

    I do peel-and-stick labels and spots as well.  I'm working on
    pre-printing the labels with identifying information as well as
    serial number.  Along with a little space for a hand written note.
    Or maybe I should call that a "notelette" since there is precious
    little space to write!  :-)
