The interface to the drive is ultra III SCSI so its still a ways off for
home users.

IBM also has the 36gigabyte drives... those are IDE UDMA66.

and to add a bit of value to this off topic post... there's the FASTRAK IDE
RAID controller. This device allows you to create a RAID with 2 or 4 IDE
drives... making it extremely fast, perfect for desktop video. You can take
4 of those 36gig drives and make a 138gig RAID.

Several companies including Sony have developed proprietary "multilayered"
writeable "cd" formats... where you can store over 200gigabytes on ONE CD
sized disk. These are extremely expensive burners but the idea of 200gigs on
a disk in your hand... anyways...
