Why is it embarrassing?  I would think embarrassing is to have a
motor drive make noise during the show.  There is an accessory
that you can get to help you rewind the film a bit faster. 
Other ideas:  Get a Kodak instead of a Realist!  Carry two
Realists so you don't have to reload them so often.  OR, get one
of those "bulk film backs" for the Realist.  This accessory is
rare but it exists (a picture is in Realist book, courtesy of
Wolfgang Sell).  You will not need to worry about unloading &
reloading but you might still be embarrassed by the looks of the
camera. :-)
