P3D 1/30 rule
Boris Starosta responds:
>Jeff: the 1/30 rule limits "on film deviation" and is intended to
insure
>that there is not too much parallax in a view, expecially when
projected.
>The 1/30 rule is also a simplification, as it assumes that you are
>including infinity in the view. So the rule is to limit the maximum on
>film deviation of two homologous points at infinity.
I recall in Jac Ferwerdas (sp?) World of 3D book that he points out that
the Realist Macro has a stereo base of 15.8mm and focuses at 4"-51/2"
(100-140mm), which creates less than a 1/10 ratio. This will create good
depth but you need to limit your background.
