Here is an interesting item I found.  It's not stereoscopic, but it is a
system for taking digital photos of an object and putting them into a 3D
graphics program.  Since the object can then be rotated, I would assume one
could do this with two viewpoints and make a stereoscopic version of the
same thing.  Anyway, for what it's worth, here's the URL:
