P3D Burke & James viewer

While digging through my viewers just now I ran across a Realist format
Burke & James viewer. Similar in size to the Realist red button, it has
interocular on top and focus on the bottom. The light comes on when a
slide is inserted. Black bakelite. The only identifier is a silver paper
label on top which reads "Burke & James, Inc. est. 1897, Photographic
Supplies, Chicago, IL. USA". On the bottom it also says Made in Germany.
There is no tripod socket. I have never come across another. Can anyone
tell me if this viewer was ever sold under another name or was meant to
be a companion to a certain camera.
