P3D FED on manual, slow slide film

A while back someone posed the question of using the FED
Stereo in manual mode with slow slide film like Kodachrome 25.

I shot a test roll on Ektachrome Elite II 50 (for quick
processing--I much prefer Kodachrome). It was successful
and about as good as shooting on manual with any camera, except
that with only 1/30 and B you have to be careful about camera
shake. I used a tripod for most of the shots because I was
interested in seeing how good the lenses were (very good).

Since you get fewer exposures on a roll than anything else than
a full-frame stereo camera like some of the RBT models, bracketing
will use up a roll in a hurry!

Of course with a 50-speed film I could not have had the correct
exposure in bright sunlight. With Kodachrome 25 it would be
correct.

My evaluation of the lenses wasn't on a critical basis. At f/2.8
they weren't as sharp as smaller apertures, but not bad. I didn't
notice any degradation at f/16, but it might not be quite as
good as f/5.6 or so.

A couple of ND filters might be handy to push the aperture into
the range you want.
