I've been lurking for maybe a month, and unfortunately don't know enough
of the tech stuff yet to fully understand just what the heated
discussions are about . . .

Altercations are part of the scenery on the net - the existence of a
faceless medium makes it much more tempting to get into somebody's
face.

This interests me as well. I do most of my photography in caves, and
I've taken some rather spectacular slides of giant, stadium size rooms
in some caves here in the eastern US. The fun and the challenge is in
lighting these rooms up. The effects would be even more spectacular
in 3d, but I'll need a slide bar for a stereo slide of a 7 acre room.

That's the advantage to cave photography, you supply *all* the light,
and nothing moves except flowing water.

found a less expensive setup?

There is an adaptor for electronic flash available for the Stereo
Realist (from Reel-3d) that will probably work on the Kodak as well.
I plan to modify my Stereo Realist by using a dremel tool and grinding
down flat the round protrusion that prevents use of electronic flash.

I've been shopping for stuff on Ebay for weeks now, and about every other
day various manuals and books about the Kodak Stereo camera are up for
sale.
