P3D Subject : Rewind cranks for the Realist
Hi all,
Made a very oversized rewind crank for my Realist this afternoon.
Took me about 1 hour to make. I found out that the cap of an old
shampoo bottle fitted snugly (not to say tight) over the Realist
rewind knob. A small strip of aluminium, a small aluminium tube
as a handle and three nuts and screws did the work. It has a 'reach'
of more than 10 cm. That means that the handle is almost right above
the centre of the flash adapter when above the camera. Costs ?
Almost nil.
Just want to share this with the group. Also working on another
crank based on a part of the coupling of a garden hose. I filed
down the inner screw-thread with a Dremel and it also fits tight
around the rewind knob. Another improvised 'handle' and voila !
Also working on two Olympus Trip's fitted bottom to bottom.
These are very cheap camera's over here (around $1.25 on flea
markets) and of good quality AFAIK. Sawed the head off of a
fitting screw and coupled the camera's bottom to bottom.
I'm trying to make some kind of 'rack' to mount the camera's
with supply of one or two relais to fire the shutters
simultaneously.
I don't expect any replies or answers because I didn't get any
on the posts I sent the last couple of months to this group.
This message is just for your benefit (stopping you from buying
rewind cranks on eBay for crazy prices)
Do you have anything against me ? Please tell me so that I can
do something on it.
Sorry for my English. I'm not a native speaker.
Cheers,
Peter
