This post reminded me that I saw a couple of handmade cranks somewhere.
Then it dawned on me to look in Dr. T's Stereo Realist book.  By golly,
right there on page 82 are a couple of ideas for cranks. I have
considered taking a folding crank off a busted camera and pinning and
epoxying it onto the Realist crank. If the crank is fairly thin, it
should still fit in the case.
