P3D Italian ViewMaster viewers

With all the recent excitement about the new Virtual
Viewers from ViewMaster, I haven't noticed anyone 
comment on the fact that the versions on sale in Europe
are marked "Made in Italy".
This is a nice continuation of an old Sawyers tradition of
manufacturing viewers in subsiduary plants to benefit from
the tax, duty, and transport advantages of >local< production.
The years of production from the Belgium plant is the most well
known example, but I also have VM viewers in my collection
manufactured in India, Australia, France , England andSpain.
The surprise is that this is still found financially advantageous over
importation from the new "cheap" production facilities in China
and Mexico.
