Here are a few suggestions to get your 5p images printed in a 1 hour
lab:
1) Don't expect them in an hour. Leave the film overnight / or a couple
of days
2) take a sample pair and viewer to show the staff a stereo image ( do
this off peak period)
3) Request the negatives NOT be cut
4) Suggest that each image be centered in the carrier and printed.
Purchase a good paper cutter and trim the prints down yourself. Accept
the 4x6 size prints. Don't ask the lab to cut them.
5) Have the lab darken the prints that share space in the carrier with
the dead areas of film. ( due to the camera advance progression, some
frames will be black) The machine will want to lighten these and the
prints will be washed out.
Kindly request attention to these areas.
6) Don't be too insistant for exact print pair matching. Chances are the
images will look almost identical anyway. If you insist that the left
images are printed first, then the right images are matched by print
codes......you are asking for problems! You may end up with several
double prints and no stereo effect.
7) Don't expect the lab to marvel at your work. Chances are they will
want to do a good job for you because they like you.......don't try to
educate someone that could care less. You are another " job on the
rack".......and that's all. Show some respect and appreciation and
you'll receive nice work. Remember......WE are the " freaks" and they
are normal people. :-)
8) Take a 3D slide of the store front, the store interior, a holiday
scene, anything! Leave the image w/ SV1 viewer with the manager. Tell
them you enjoy both the slides and prints.
9) Tokens of appreciation for a job well done never hurt. :-)
                                                Mark Dottle

If all else fails....buy a Loreo! :-)
