I, like so many others who have recently commented about John, was saddened
to hear about his passing. Thanks to Tom Deering (Was it you Tom?) for
providing John's hospital phone and fax numbers last month. John and I had
another great conversation that day. I was even able to send him an ASCII 3D
fax which was delivered to him while we were talking. =) This man _LOVED_
3D! I will miss his enthusiasm...

I am particularly saddened by the fact that he worked so hard to get so many
of his multiple exposure light paintings scanned in and converted to JPS
format for inclusion in 3D-CD-II, but never got to see the end result after
it was all brought in to HTML and "plain" stereo pairs were added... He had
me hold off sending him a copy during his trips to the hospital, etc.

If you have a 3D-CD-II, go back and look at John's work again. It's great
stuff, and he would have loved to have you enjoying it again and again. If
you don't have the 3D-CD, then you can see some of his work at the VRex
Depthcharge/3D Expo site http://www.3dexpo.com/gallery_baird.htm which has a
quote from john, and some of his images.
