P3D Nimslo/Nishika
>I forget - wasn't the Nimslo (Niskika) also part of a multi level
>marketing business (ie, scam)?
> Bob Wier
The Nimslo came out in 1982. I remember seeing a display on the camera
counter at K-Mart which had a few sample photos. I remember thinking how
cool they were, but I didn't have $300 dollars.
The Nishika must have come out about 1988-9. I first saw someone selling
the "program" at NSA '89 in Portland. Then I was seeing them at every
camera show I attended for a few years after that. I had to buy a
Nishika about a year ago for $20 because it is such a joke. The fake SLR
viewfinder. The fake LCD display. The lead weight inside to make it
hefty.
I did buy 2 new-in-the-box Nimslo's and flashes about 1990 at a Pro
shop. $60 for camera case and flash. It was the last of their original
stock. I have used one camera and flash but the others are still in the
original boxes packed away somewhere. I believe prices on the boxes are:
camera $199, flash $79 and case $29.
Then I used Nishika processing for a few years, till they closed. The
End
