>>3M Magic Brand Scotch Tape (the green plaid) is rumored to be archival
>>(i.e., it won't damage the film and it is reversible). 3M Invisible
>>Tape (red plaid) is definitely NOT archival and will damage film and
>>prints.

I have found that everyone who deals with archival matters read a good book on
the subject and obtain a copy of the University Products catalog. Go to:
http://www.universityproducts.com.

Their catalog is free and is richly illustrated on more than 200 glossy pages.
Everything they offer is geared towards museums and archivists. They carry a
wide assortment of mounting materials that are not run of the mill, and designed
to protect.

For example, if you have a couple of human skulls lying around and you do not
know how to properly store them, they offer boxes for storing them. I am not a
rep of the company, just a big, big fan.
