I tried the Tetenal E6 chemistry nearly 20 years ago and at least back then 
yes, you got slides in about an hour - but the results were wildly variable. 
Expect huge fluctuations from batch to batch especially in contrast, density 
and color balance (even when following directions to a "t" and with fresh 
chemistry every time).

There's nothing wrong with trying this for fun (bracket like a madman!), but 
for anything important I'd recommend leaving it up to a trusted lab.
