  Compared to regular diffusers these
are very efficient so you don't waste
a lot of the light by scattering it
in directions that don't end up going
through the eye piece.

  If they were only (say) $10 a piece
they might be worth using to have a
viewer that runs for 10's of hours
using white LEDs. Given their high
price there are probably better methods.
